Ivo Cípio Aureliano
Ivo Cípio Aureliano is a Macuxi lawyer with the Conselho Indígena de Roraima (Indigenous Council of Roraima, CIR) in Boa Vista, Roraima. CIR works to defend Indigenous rights guaranteed in Brazil’s Constitution and to strengthen the autonomy of Indigenous peoples in the state of Roraima.
Ivo alerts communities to proposed projects on Indigenous lands and advances sustainable projects. He has argued before the Supreme Court to defend Indigenous peoples’ rights.
Ivo is one of five ELAW Fellows who have been jointly funded by multiple funders.
